Endermologie®
Endermologie®, a registered trademark of LPG Systems, was introduced as a subdermal treatment for reducing cellulite over a decade ago. Endermologie® was originally developed in France in the 1980’s as a treatment for adherent scars, although many patients observed reduction of body dimensions and improvement in skin texture. Since then, Endermologie® has been used as a treatment for cellulite reduction and skin toning.
Endermologie® was the first medical treatment to be FDA approved for cellulite reduction and loss of body circumference. Its safety and efficacy has been the subject of several clinical trials and on going research is promising.
How it works?
Endermologie® is a patented technique involving a mechanized device with two motorized rollers and regulated suction. The Keymodule® is a small hand-held and motorised treatment head with specially designed rollers that perform the Endermologie® treatment. This non-surgical and non-invasive device creates a symmetrical skin fold, which allows for deep tissue mobilization to occur and results in reduction of cellulite and loss of inches.
By gently lifting and rolling the skin, the Keymodule® stimulates the venous and lymphatic systems thereby eliminating toxins. Fibroblasts are stimulated to the increase collagen and elastin production generating a healthier rejuvenated skin tone. Wearing a bodywear, especially designed by LPG, the motorised rollers gently run over the full length of the body and then concentrate on the problem areas. The controlled suction gently lifts and rolls your skin, to deeply massage the affected areas, increasing the cutaneous blood flow by 400 percent (Laser Doppler measurements) and lymphatic flow by 300 percent (Lymphoscintigraphy measurements). Toxins and abnormal fluid retention build up is expelled as connective fibres are stretched and restored.
The ability of the adipocytes to store and eliminate fat depends on the neuro-hormonal messages acting on 2 types of receptors: the stimulating receptors (b) and the inhibitory receptors (a) that are distributed differently depending on the anatomical site and the sex. Applying the Cellu M6 Keymodule or the Lipo M6 to femoral fat tissue allegedly triggers a stimulation of the receptors (greater sensitivity to lipolytic messages).
Sessions with the Cellu M6 and the Lipo M6 with time “re-educate” the adipocytes to eliminate fat. An observation that is even the more interesting is that the adipocyte, which is metabolically silent in the femoral region of the female, would appear to be the leading beneficiary of this “mechanical tissue therapy”. This study coordinated by Professor Max Lafontan shows that the femoral adipose tissue is clearly stimulated and weight loss is related to optimization of the phenomenon of lipolysis, which is often deficient, particularly in the phenomenon of cellulite. |
