Accent™ device is a state-of-the-art RF-heating source for aesthetic and cosmetic applications. This unique Dual Radio Frequency technology, RF2, provides controlled volumetric tissue heating to two distinct depths of tissue.
In the BiPolar mode, RF energy penetrates the skin superficially, facilitating the treatment of areas, where skin is thinner and more delicate such as areas of the face where the skin rests directly over the bone. The Alma proprietary UniPolar™ mode, delivers RF energy deep into the dermal and sub-dermal layers to efficiently treat large volumes of tissue. Unlike other RF based technologies, the Accent™ system does not require consumables. Therefore, treatments are clean, efficient and economical.

Accent™ RF treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anaesthetics. An added benefit is that this is a no downtime therapy. Both RF energies are delivered to tissue with continuous contact cooling, which provides additional patient comfort and epidermal protection.
The UniPolar RF handpiece penetrates up to 20 mm into tissue - reaching adipose tissue and cellulite. Heating to these tissue depths therapeutically improves local circulation, promotes fibrous tissue breakdown, and helps to manage areas subject to oedema by promoting the re-absorption and drainage of retained fluids and toxins. Accent™ RF technology may facilitate and enhance the break-up of adipose tissue, helping to mobilize and eliminate fat deposits - non-invasively.

Accent™ unipolar handpiece allows deep controlled penetration of RF. The unipolar handpiece contains an RF-resonant system, a thermo-electric coupling (TEC) cooler and a red pushbutton for activating the system. The freehand, dynamic (rubbing) technique employed using the unipolar handpiece enables rapid, safe, and effective treatment without the need for disposables, ground electrodes or stationary manoeuvres. The popularity of this new technique lies in the speed of its operation and performance (dynamic), as well as the fact that it involves no wound care or patient down time. Accent™ does not require coupling gel, return electrodes, or very good contact (pressure), and can be used in motion, with no adjustments for changes in fluence.
Collagen response from Treatment

The Bipolar Handpiece generates heat within the dermis. This dermal heating releases the colalgen bonds and unwinds the collagen bundles. Fibroblasts are released to the surrounding area, stimulating the growth of new collagen. The result - a thickening of the dermal layer and improvement in skin surface texture over time.

 

Cellulite response to Treatment
Deep dermal heating applied to the dermis with the UniPolar handpiece increases localized metabolism and blood circulation. Triglycerides and free fatty acids trapped within the adipocytes are released into the bloodstream, causing shrinkage of these cells. The result - reduction in the size of the adipocytes in the hypodermis, improved quality and integrity of the connective tissue, and reduction in cellulite.
